Hi all,

There will be COSCON contest at WCG on 9 Aug at Suntec City.


Date: 9th August 2008, Saturday
Time: 12.30pm – 3.30pm
Venue: Suntec Conventional Hall 402/403

Be a part in our annual Coscon Contest 2008 by dressing up as your favourite movie/game/TV character and walk away with wonderful prizes. No age limit required!!! Register early to get a WCG Goodie Bag! (Limited to first 10 participants)

· Grand Prize: F250 Music Phone + T10 MP3 Player (4GB ) (worth $1,000)
· 2nd Prize: K3 MP3 Player + K3 Speaker (worth $500)
· 3rd Prize: T10 MP3 Player (4GB ) (worth $300)
· 4th – 10th: Samsung Flagship Store Vouchers (worth $40)


+++ Contest Rules +++

1. Contestants are to ready 30mins before stage time (12pm)
2. Contestants will be introduced on stage one at a time
3. Contestants will introduce themselves and the characters they’re cosplaying
4. They will be given 20 seconds to strike poses for the cameras and convince the judges to keep them for the 2nd round.
5. Judges will be given some time to deliberate on which 10 contestants to keep.
6. Contestants will be eliminated 2 at a time.
7. The remaining 10 contestants will be given more stage time to act out their roles and impress the audience.
8. With the remaining contestants, the emcees will ask them the important question, “Why do you think you deserve to win?”
9. Audience members will be asked for their response on each contestant which carry a 20% weight age on the final score
10. Audience will vote and can only vote once each to decide on the final 3 winners.
11. Once the results have been tabulated, the contestants will be brought back to stage and the final winners announced.

+++ Judging +++

1. Movie Mania will provide 2 Judges; 1 with extensive movie background, and 1 judge with extensive anime background.
2. Judging will be based on the following breakdown

• o Costume Accuracy 30%
  o Role-play Accuracy 30%
  o Performance Flair 20%
  o Audience Response 20%

We are also checking with organizers to propose group contests and ask for more prizes.

clashes with national day.... lol.... of all the time in the world..... lol...

lolz,i will be going but seems like need to head there early if not will clash with a big crowd i think xD

clash with national day? O_o that is no problem haha, we take train etc. before ndp starts n go back before ndp end =P
i will avoid the ndp crowd with my dying will!!!
