They slipped onto your shoes like socks to change its appearance. Like changing outfits for your shoes liddat.

It's a matter of testing your luck liao. Some boot covers fit perfectly (like in here: http://pics.livejournal.com/tnarcheska/pic/000ar57e), some may not, since the tailor will have no idea of knowing what is the cutting of the shoes you will wear.
